2020 was the year of good music, live performances and more online content than we could imagine. We have compiled a few of our faves and who we think you need to keep an eye on this year.

Ajebo Hustlers 

Ajebo Hustlers are a talented Nigerian Afrobeat and highlife music duo which consist of  Piego and Knowledge. They have a unique style of music which blends so well with their captivating street slangs. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this year.

Tomi Owó

Tomi Owó is a dynamic songwriter with a distinct vocal tone, who incorporates reality with substance, to make for the musical output she is coming to be known for.
She writes from diverse influences, and her sound is mellow, albeit rich with eclectic vocal dynamics. Her genre is unafraid, a musical palette splashed with urban soul, pop, and afro-inspired sounds. We love her style and are excited for what she drops next.

Azanti 

Super talented teenage boy wonder Azanti is a singer, songwriter and producer.
Recently signed to Apex Village collective, the young talent is set to exhibit a soulful angle to the collectives many talents creating a sound that cuts across RnB, Hip Hop, Afro Beats and Trap Soul.

Rebecca Winter

Rebecca Winter is an Award-winning singer-songwriter. Her music has had over a quarter of a million streams on Spotify alone with fan-favourite hits like ‘Pree Me’ ‘Vibe’ and her smash Debut EP ‘Rare’ receiving great reviews from peers and fans alike. We are big fans of Rebecca’s energy and content and cannot wait to see what is next.

Ogranya

Ogranya is an eclectic musician whose music has tenets of afro soul, R&B and Jazz. He is an independent artist who spends time as an architect by day and a performer by night.
Ogranya is a big favourite for us and our playlists would not be complete with out him.

The CaveMen

The Cavemen is a Lagos based ‘Afrocentric influenced’ band founded brothers Kingsley Okorie and Benjamin James. Together, they play their own genre called Highlife Fusion which combines afrobeats, highlife, jazz and soul music. The CaveMen have that outside vibe, chilling at a bar or a live lounge; we cannot wait to get back into the world and see them perform.

Junior 

Meet Junior, a Nigerian / Cameroonian young artist hailing from South East London whose love for cinema inspired him to be a curator of soundtracks. 
Utilising the term “Life is like a movie” as the foundation of his artistic direction, his music aims to provide theme songs for emotions, moments, and life experiences that are relatable. This is just the beginning for Junior and the future is definitely bright for this young star.

Trayc Salasi 

Trayc rose to prominence in 2012, during her dance cameo in Fuse ODG’s ‘Antenna’ video, and again for ‘Dangerous Love’ in 2014, which gained over 22 million+ views on YouTube. As Trayc’s career jumped from strength to strength she never lost sight of her home and past. Trayc’s home-country Ghana has become an integral influence in her career. Which has encouraged her to become a voice for Ghanaian music and culture in the UK, representing her homeland through dance, fashion, and music. 2021 seems to be a promising year for Trayc to breakthrough.

A Must Watch: Major League DJz Team Up With Mr JazziQ, Amaroto, Abidoza and Costa Titch

Major League DJz and Abidoza give us visuals to the inception of the new dance titled, the iNyawana Challenge with their brand new music video for Ayeye.

Major League DJz and Abidoza have released the music video for their joint single, Ayeye, featuring Costa Titch, Reece Madlisa, Mr JazziQ & Zuma.

The music video was produced by acclaimed name in the industry, Monde Dube and is an insight of the origins of the latest dance challenge curated, by the Major League DJz, titled iNyawana Challenge.

Set in a club, the music video intercuts between different spaces in a night club. Each of the performers get a chance to shine in various parts of the clean, stark scenery.

However, the selling point of the music video is that it provides visuals to the inception of the iNyawana Dance. The music video showcases the injury suffered by Bandile Mbere not as an impediment but a comical dance move.

Featuring Uncle Vinny, the tail end of the music not only showcases the chemistry between the twins and Uncle Vinny. Moreover, the scenes showcase that maybe Vinny borrowed the moves from the twins.

Nadia Nakai Practice Music Video Ft Vic Mensa

After dropping her single in August & exciting fans with the  behind scenes  footage, multi-award winning Hip Hop superstar, Nadia Nakai drops her  long anticipated music video titled “Practice” featuring Vic Mensa.

Vic Mensa is an American multi-Grammy nominated rapper and songwriter signed under Jay Z’s Roc Nation label. His lyricism and social consciousness in his music has earned him much respect from the hip hop community. Vic has spent the last few months visiting Ghana (the birth place of his father), where he collaborated with the likes of Stonebwoy and Sarkodie.

While in SA he was spotted in studio with The Pink Panther, Tshego and the current leader of the country’s new wave artists Blxckie. Fans are still waiting anxiously for the release of these tracks.

The “Practice” single is part of the Nadia Naked 2 deluxe album which has combined elements of pop, African rhythm & hip hop basslines. Nadia has continues to prove her versatility with her music offerings by delving deeply into.

“I’m really excited about the release of the music video! Being able to shoot it with Vic while I was in Ghana was an experience I completely enjoyed and I hope that comes across to the fans who I know will love the video too!” says the Nadia Nakai.

The visuals were directed by Ghanaian director, KP Selorm who has orchestrated a number of music video’s by West African artists.
Nadia Nakai brand continues to spread rapidly, continuing gaining fans all over the globe.

The Practice music video has exclusively premiered on, TV music media platforms and will go live on YouTube at 14:00 CAT, on the visuals Nadia continue brings something fresh to her audience. Fans will continue to see Nadia’s growth with her brand collaborations and other business ventures.

Blaqbonez is joined by alté queen, Amaarae and Burna Boy signee, Buju, in the new music video for Blaq’s latest single, ‘Bling’.

The video was directed by frequent Blaqbonez collaborator, TG Omori, who also directed videos for the singles, ‘Mamiwota’ and ‘Haba.’

The video depicts an iced-out Blaq, sporting his new look, with ‘Bling’ being the artist’s first video since cutting his pink dreads and replacing them with a pattern-dyed buzz cut.

Amaarae and Buju also come along for the ride, delivering verse-of-the-year contenders and matching the song’s mellowed-out energy.

Blaqbonez’s new album, ‘Sex Over Love’ is scheduled for release on the 30th of April.
